Every November, Las Palmas marina becomes the sailing capital of the world as hundreds of yachts gather for the iconic ARC transatlantic rally heading to Santa Lucia. Expect live music, international sailors, and incredible harbor vibes just a short ride from the hostel.
The world's biggest world music fair is back in Las Palmas for the first time since 2018. Musicians and music lovers from around the globe meet at the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus and Plaza de la Música, right at the end of Las Canteras and just a short walk along the beach from KYO Surf Hostel.
Every Christmas since 2006, sand sculptors from around the world build a giant nativity scene on Las Canteras beach. It's free, lit up at night, and draws more than 100,000 visitors. Christmas in a T-shirt by the ocean is something you won't forget!

Thursday night is tapero night in Vegueta! We took a group from KYO Surf & Youth Hostel down to the cobblestone streets of the old town for €2 tapas, pinchos, and local Canarian beer alongside travelers and locals alike.
